(92+ points) Released only after two years, the 2019 Gemischter Satz Weiss is the Buchertberg turned to wine—it includes all the white grape varieties cultivated on this monopole. The nose of this cloudy-golden colored field blend is still pretty reductive, quite yeasty and "natural" as well as concentrated and aromatic, with intense but elegant fruit aromas spiced with notes of crushed stones, iodine and white pepper. Round and lush on the palate, this is a charmingly round and elegant, refined but also still reductive white that is structurally finessed and stimulatingly salty but aromatically still in the clouds. A big glass can help a bit, but longer bottle aging should be even more exciting, though. The wine has good mineral freshness along with lemon notes and finely grained acidity that ensures very good aging potential. 12.5% stated alcohol. Screw cap. Tasted in December 2021. - Stephan Reinhardt
