This inviting, chocolaty wine is super-soft in mouthfeel at first, due to a full body and resolved tannins. But the tannins firm up on the finish to reveal a structure that can help it age well. Perfumed aromas of tile, blackberry, bark, earth and pine needles follow through to a medium body with very fine tannins and a lovely savory finish. The balance and drinkability is really right. 60% cabernet sauvignon, 30% merlot and 10% malbec. First release. Drink or hold.

Finely boned, gentle charcoal, grilled peppers, and spiced black fruits. The Malbec makes a clear impact, and this has depth and character. There is a clear desire to deliver a wine that reflects a European sensibility, and although the intensity of the 2020 vintage comes through, you can drink this now with a good carafe. A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 10% Malbec, the 2020 Hora Red Wine offers attractive aromas of mixed cherries and berries, with coffee-tinged notes in the background. Aged in 60% new French oak, it's medium to full-bodied, streamlined and even Bordeaux-ish in feel, with a smooth, silky texture and gently dusty tannins on the finish. - JC

The 2020 Hora is a powerful, driving wine. Super-ripe black cherry, plum, licorice, rose petal, spice, gravel and incense add to an impression of somber gravitas. Ideally, the aromatics could be more focused, but the 2020 has good palate presence. Even so, all the elements are nicely balanced within the context of the year. There is a bit of edginess at the very end of the finish, but that is pretty much true of all 2020s. -- Antonio Galloni
