This year began with rapid maturity, followed by a hot and dry summer, with a lot of concentration in the grapes. Pouring a bright medium yellow hue, the NV Champagne Blanc De Blancs Brut is based on 2020 and was disgorged in 2024. Made with 30% reserve wine, with 5-6% of the wine vinified in oak barrels, it has a lush and smooth, rounded, pillowy mousse, with ripe fruit of meringue and lemon curd. Classic for a reason, drink this over the coming 10 years.

The Charles Heidsieck Blanc de Blancs NV is a small production non-vintage wine (less than 10K cases produced) focused on expressing Champagne’s diverse Chardonnay terroirs. The blend is based on 2016 and has 45-50% Cotes des Blancs fruit (mostly Vertus and Oger) with the rest sourced from villages east to south. Much like the Brut Reserve the blend includes 25-30% of reserve wines, though only younger reserves up to 10 years old. It has a delicate, mineral-laced nose with creamy lemon curd and acacia honey notes. The light to medium-bodied palate is very textural with a soft, fine mousse enlivened by assertive acidity that adds considerable freshness to the long, saline finish. Based on the 2021 vintage and complemented by 32% reserve wines, Charles Heidsieck's latest rendition of NV Blanc de Blancs was disgorged in July 2025 with a dosage of nine grams per liter. Laid down in the house’s chalk cellars in 2022, it is sourced primarily from the Côte des Blancs, complemented by fruit from the Montagne de Reims, Montgueux and the Sézannais, with approximately 15% of the blend matured in oak barrels. The wine reveals aromas of lemon confit, white peach and almond paste, followed by a medium-bodied palate that is lively and endowed with a crisp core of fruit, animated by racy acidity and concluding with a saline, citrus zest-inflected finish.
