Full-bodied yet lifted, with aromas of ripe red fruit, both fresh and brooding. Mushrooms, delicate exotic spices and pine as well. Assertive and powerful on the palate, showing crunchy red fruit integrated with linear acidity and taut tannins. Drink or hold.

The 2023 Pinot Noir (West Sonoma Coast) is another superb wine from this new estate. A blast of dark cherry/plum fruit, spice, menthol, licorice, incense, cloves, new leather and a kiss of French oak race across the palate. The Estate Pinot is dark-fruited but not heavy, thanks to its fresh streak of pine and coastal herbs. Tart blackberries, black cherries, and plums mix with a hint of wood spice, such as clove and star anise, from medium-toasted French oak barrels for 14 months. The tannins are still a bit tight, but the finish is lifted with a cool, mineral edge. (Drink between 2025-2040)

Medium to deep ruby-purple colored, the 2023 Pinot Noir erupts from the glass with powerful notes of black raspberries, black cherries, and pomegranate, followed by nuances of violets, menthol, dark chocolate, and garrigue. The medium-bodied palate is very light on its feet with great intensity of flavors without weight, framed by very fine-grained tannins and a racy line, finishing long and perfumed. Lovely accents of singed alder and apple wood frame a generous core of mulberry and black cherry fruit, while iris and anise notes flitter through. A graphite spine drives the finish. Rock solid. Drink now through 2029. 614 cases made.
