The Peay West Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir is a true panoramic view of the estate’s terroir and the vintage. Sourced mainly from Peay’s estate blocks, with just 5% coming from the slightly warmer Richardson Vineyard next door, this is the winery’s biggest-production Pinot - though at 1,500 cases, it’s still far from mass-produced. The 2022 vintage is a wine with energy and depth, which is classic Peay, delivering a nose that balances delicate florals and bright red berries with a whisper of coastal salinity. The palate is full of tart red fruit like cranberries and pomegranate, with some citrusy mid-palate reminiscent of blood oranges and a pinch of spice for good measure. The structure is firm yet graceful, carrying everything through to a pleasant finish.

Soft and delicate aromas of wild raspberries, cinnamon bark, pine needles, pencil shavings and potpourri. The palate is medium-bodied with finely integrated tannins and nervy acidity. Such great depth and structure, capturing the freshness and coolness of the vineyard. Drink or hold.

The 2023 Pinot Noir West Sonoma Coast has alluring aromas of cranberry, rooibos tea, mossy bark, mushrooms and bitters. The medium-bodied palate features concentrated, crunchy fruit and well-integrated new oak spice. It’s structured by grainy tannins and juicy acidity and has a long, flavorful finish. - Erin Brooks

he 2023 Pinot Noir (West Sonoma Coast) is brilliant. Bold, racy and punchy, with terrific energy, the 2023 is a delight. Red/purplish fruit, lavender, rose petal, mint and orange peel are all front and center. Clean mineral notes frame the long, nuanced finish. Most of this fruit is from the Peay estate.
