The 2023 Friulano regular bottling from Livio Felluga is the least reductive of these three entry level bottlings from the estate. With a bit of coaxing the wine offers up a superb bouquet of pear, green olive, a nice touch of lime zest, gentle notes of grassiness, white lilies, wild fennel and a superb base of soil tones. On the palate the wine is crisp, full-bodied, focused and complex, with only a wisp of lingering reduction (which shows up as a slight vegetal aspect on the backend), with a lovely core of fruit, excellent acids and grip and a long, well balanced and classy finish. I have little doubt that there is an even better wine here than the screwcap allows to show, but even under this closure it is quite tasty.
