(94-96 points) The 2023 Romanée-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru had recently been racked back into barrels rather than vat. It has a perfumed bouquet with a mixture of red and black fruit, iris flower and hints of dark chocolate. The palate is medium-bodied with very pliant, fine tannins that frame the slightly toasty dark berry fruit. As usual, this leans more toward black than red fruit, with a touch of graphite toward the finish. This will need four or five years in bottle
