The 2023 Chablis Vaillons Vieilles Vignes 1er Cru has a touch of reduction on the nose, but there is definitely a decent Vaillons behind that, which the <em>mineralité</em> percolates through. The palate is fresh and vibrant, with a subtle vanilla pod note mixed with wild peach. This has fine weight and tension with commendable complexity on the finish. The 2023 is lovely. This white is ripe, evoking yellow flower, mirabelle plum and preserved lemon flavors kissed by vanilla. This is intense and offers staying power on the long, spicy aftertaste. Shows excellent balance and length. Drink now through 2029. 1,125 cases made, 225 cases imported.- BS
