(95-98 points) A fine ruby crimson. No doubting the energy here. Not explosive but fully in control of itself and growing towards majesty towards the back of the palate, with a marvellous volume of deep red fruit that absolutely justifies the reputation of the vineyard. Properly long, leaving a very satisfying taste.

(96-98 points) The 2023 Richebourg Grand Cru has a typical nose for this vineyard, backward and a little stern at first. Its tightly wound redcurrant, cranberry and black plum fruit notes become more open with acquaintance. Apparently, it was very open the previous day, but this is in a mood! The palate is medium-bodied with fine structure and a beguiling sense of symmetry from start to finish. This might be the most elegant Richebourg that I have encountered from Grivot at this stage. It's very poised with an extremely long aftertaste. This will require serious cellaring. - Neal Martin, November 2024

The 2023 Grivot Richebourg is a delightful success, with lovely supple sweet mulberry and pomegranate fruit and a hint of flinty minerals, leather, and spice. The texture is fine and elegant at the same time it is dense and compact. In short, a wonderful balancing act. The fruit character has an abundance of what the French call 'sucrosité' – the character of sweet fruit without sugar. The freshness and the firm tannic grip drive the wine to an impressively long finish.

(94-96 points) A brooding and highly restrained nose only grudgingly offers up its aromas of spiced exotic tea, black cherry liqueur, plum and a similar array of floral elements. There is both more volume and power to the broad-shouldered, muscular and stony flavors that exude evident minerality on the compact, serious and hugely long finale. This is outstanding and potentially one of the best wines of the 2023 vintage. With that said, this is very clearly a 'buy and forget you own it' wine.
