For its high level of concentration, this fabulous Fleurie has a surprisingly sleek, medium-bodied palate. Great elegance and fine tannins keep this cool and precise all the way through the long, velvety finish. Right at the end, there’s a wonderful burst of the sour and black-cherry aromas that are so pronounced on the nose. Mostly whole-cluster fruit to maximize the freshness. Drink or hold. The 2023 Fleurie Poncié has a flamboyant bouquet with blueberry and violet scents billowing from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with sweet red cherry and redcurrant notes laced with orange rind and hints of brown spice. Quite structured for a Fleurie, this has decent grip and a persistent finish. The 2023 Fleurie Poncié opens on the palate with vibrant notes of lilacs, lavender, sweet soil, candied plums and cherries. Medium to full-bodied, the wine features tangy acidity that enhances the satiny fruit with a tart candied quality, structured with fine-grained tannins that grip the cheeks, slowing down the wine's progression while contributing to its youthful character.- KW
