One of the best Sauvignon Blancs in the world, the 2023 Château Couhins Blanc is based on 90% Sauvignon Blanc and 10% Sauvignon Gris and was aged eight months in 25% new French oak with the balance in neutral barrels and tank. Its medium gold hue is followed by a killer perfume of mineral-laced citrus, honeyed orange, crushed stone, and mint, with an almost Riesling-like minerality and very subtle diesel character. Medium-bodied and concentrated on the palate, it has bright, racy acidity and a great finish. This château needs way more attention in the market, and this beauty will keep for two decades. (90-92 points) A blend of 90% Sauvignon Blanc and 10% Sauvignon Gris, the 2023 Couhins Blanc exhales pure, delicate aromas of herbs, pear, white peach and spring flowers. Moderately weighted and elegant, it has a juicy, fresh core of fruit and a long, mineral and saline finish.

(90-92 points) Notes of struck flint, lemonade, and lime leaves pop from the glass of the 2023 Couhins Blanc, followed by hints of ripe pears and fresh pineapple. The medium-bodied palate is crisp and vibrant, with a slightly reductive (minerally) character coming through on the finish. The blend is 90% Sauvignon Blanc and 10% Sauvignon Gris.

Lemon grass, green apples, lemon rind, pomelo, and white flowers are easy to spot in the nose, and on the crisp, bright, citrus and pineapple filled palate. Fresh, and juicy, with a powdery texture in the finish, this should be ready-to-go on release. The wine blends 96% Sauvignon Blanc with 4% Sauvignon Gris. Drink from 2025-2032. 91 Pts. 91+ The 2023 Couhins Blanc is a potent dry white. It offers plenty of textural depth but is also a bit reduced. I find the aromatics a touch muddled, the wine's considerable power notwithstanding. I would be curious to taste this again with more time in bottle. - By Antonio Galloni on March 2026
