The 2022 Le Redini is superb. Deep and packed to the core, it hits all the right notes. I am most surprised by its bright acids, considering the heat of the year. Blackberry, gravel, crushed rocks, incense, licorice and mocha saturate the palate. A dollop of Alicante in the blend works so well here. This full-bodied, opulent red is one of the most distinctive wines being made in Tuscany. It spent 16 months in used tonneaux and barriques. - Antonio Galloni

Made with Merlot and a tiny part Alicante, the Tenuta degli Dei 2022 Le Redini shows a dry delivery that is reinforced by dusty tannins and desiccated fruit tones of currant and Fig Newtons. The effect is soft and immediate, but I do feel like the 2022 vintage expertly stops short of being too ripe. Instead of jammy tones, you get dried fruit instead. I suggest an immediate drinking window as a result. Production is 35,000 bottles. - ML
