A spicy, dark but fancy wine with elegant aromas of cassis, black cherries, eucalyptus and oak bark. Full-bodied. Amazing polished, velvety tannins. The palate is very savory and spicy, with fruit and clove flavors. Balanced finish. From organically grown grapes. Drinkable now, but best from 2026.

Underbrush, crushed raspberries, lavender, cedar, mint leaf, sandalwood, warming and inviting, feels very much that you are in Tuscany here with its fragrance and spice, coupled with dark fruits, an excellent vintage of Caiarossa. The 2022 Caiarossa is another fine effort from this re-emerging property on the Tuscan Coast. Aromas of espresso, menthol, dried herbs, mocha and incense are immediately alluring. Deep, layered and sumptuous, with exceptional balance, the 2022 is a classic wine from this part of Tuscany. Caiarossa is sourced from vineyards planted mostly on sandstone soils and at lower elevations throughout the estate. It spent 14 months in wood, 90% in French oak and 10% in 25-HL cask. The blend is 32% Cabernet Franc, 26% Syrah, 17% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 7% Sangiovese, 5% Petit Verdot and 1% Grenache. – By Antonio Galloni on February 2025

A complex melange of Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, Petit Verdot and Grenache, the 2022 Caiarossa leads with Cabernet aromas of dark berries, lifted by some floral overtones and marked by an oak imprint of dark chocolate and wood. In the mouth it's intense, fleshy and chocolatey, with a distinct crunch and those chocolatey and floral themes reemerging. Well balanced and with good potential, it just needs time for the wood to integrate.
