Incredibly intense black fruit which lightens up behind. There is so much muscle to this that I don’t feel the alcohol. It is an intense coulis of dark raspberry that needs a lot more elevage. Finishes well. Despite the degree, there is a balance, continues Emmanuel.

(92-94 points) The 2019 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Beaux Monts is shaping up nicely, unwinding in the glass with aromas of cherries, candied peel, plums, spices and toasty new oak. Full-bodied, rich and powerful, it's ripe and muscular but retains good energy and cut. - WK

(90-93 points) Though compositionally similar to the Vosne, the aromas are cooler, more elegant and more restrained while the wood treatment is more generous but not dominant. There is fine density to the wonderfully sappy and intense middle weight flavors that brim with minerality that carries over to the solidly long finish. This firmly structured effort is more powerful than usual though it is also a bit warmer than usual.
