93+ The Mangot 2019 Todeschini Distique 12 is a special cuvée that celebrates the 12 years (and counting) that the Todeschini brothers have been working together at this estate and which blends 40% Cabernet Franc, 40% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon to deliver a more structured, concentrated wine than the regular Mangot blend. Exhibiting aromas of dark berries, baking chocolate, violets and plums, it's medium to full-bodied, ample and lively, with a deep core of fruit that's framed by fine, powdery tannins. This shows plenty of potential. - WK

Cabernet dominant (Franc and Sauvignon) makes this an unusual blend with plenty of personality. Restrained, pretty austere, savoury blueberry, loganberry and sour cherry, this is enjoyable but needs time. Owned by the Frères Todeschini.

92+ The 2019 Château Mangot Todeschini Distique 12 is cut from the same cloth, with a similar yet slightly deeper bouquet of ripe red and black fruits, cumin, leafy herbs, and graphite. It shows more floral notes as it sits in the glass and is medium to full-bodied, has a nicely balanced, elegant mouthfeel, ripe yet present tannins, and a great finish. It's going to benefit from 2-4 years in the cellar and I suspect evolve nicely for 15+ years or so.

The 2019 Distique 12, a parcel selection from Château Mangot, has a lovely, well-defined bouquet of vivacious raspberry and cranberry scents; brown spices and loamy aromas develop with aeration. The palate is well balanced with sappy red fruit, well-judged acidity and a caressing, saline finish. This should give 15 years of drinking pleasure, possibly more. - Neal Martin
