The 2018 Sin Blanca feels completely different from the wine from 2015 I had tasted some years ago. This is still a Juan García-based wine from Arribes with perhaps 15% to 20% other varieties like Bastardo, Bruñal, Rufete, Tinta Jeromo, Gajo Arroba and Mandón and, of course, also whites, mostly Doña Blanca. But the wine is floral and perfumed, with some balsamic notes, hints of wild herbs and something curious that makes me think of apple syrup. It has a medium-bodied palate with moderate alcohol, good balance and very fine tannins. It fermented with full clusters that were foot trodden and matured mostly in used 225-liter French oak barrels and some 5% in concrete egg. 9,200 bottles produced.- LG
