The aromatic, floral and showy 2018 Las Cruces Old Vine Series is the best year for this field blend that is harvested when the Malbec (approximately 75% of the blend) is ripe, and in 2018, it was extremely precise. At this point in time, the 15th of March, the Carmenere was quite green, and it seems to have added a lot of spark on the palate and a spicy touch. This is a serious, balanced and deep red blend, with very fine, refined tannins. There is a sensation of energy, inner power and elegance. This is hands-down the best vintage for Las Cruces. 4,824 bottles were filled in October 2019. - LG

A field blend of Carménère and Malbec in Cachapoal, "we harvest when the Malbec is ready,” says Marcelo Retamal. Bright purple in the glass, the nose has plums and spices with a hint of fine, provocative violets. Austere and juicy, it is intentionally compact with tannins leading the way in the mouth.
