A selection of the estate's oldest vines averaging 35 to 40 years old, Padelletti’s Riserva is aged in a combination of French and Slavonian five-hectolitre oak casks. Intriguingly fragrant but subtly so, this slowly reveals blood orange, dark plum, lavender and spice. Though richly fruited and generous, it shows breed and energy. It's a very textural Sangiovese, with layers of granular tannins and an equally thrilling lift. It's almost drinkable now but has plenty more to come.

Intense and full of energy, this balanced red combines power and elegance, with a solid structure framing black cherry, blackberry, iron, tobacco, almond and leather flavors. Dense, dusty tannins line the finish, but there's a lasting impression of ripe fruit. Best from 2024 through 2045. 266 cases made, 25 cases imported. — BS

The 2015 Riserva is true to the vintage, with more concentration and darker fruits, while still maintaining soft floral aromatics and perfume. Its structure is more giving and more supple, with a long finish of sweet herbs and dark cherry fruit. Though the acidity is less racy than the most recent vintage, It still offers weightless lift and freshness. These are beautiful and nuanced wines that are expressive of the vintage and consistent in their finesse. Enjoy over the next 15 or more years. 2021-2036.

Aromas of camphor, new leather, forest floor and a whiff of coffee bean shape the nose. Full in feel but showing the finesse imparted by high-altitude vineyards located to the north of Montalcino, the youthfully energized palate features ripe Marasca cherry, licorice and coffee.
