The Girolamo Russo 2024 Etna Rosso 'a Rina is mostly Nerello Mascalese, with a small percentage of Nerello Cappuccio. This entry-level red blends fruit from various sites to underline a fresh and accessible expression from the volcano. Lean in appearance with a ruby color, it offers primary notes of raspberry, wild strawberry, pressed flowers and a hint of eggplant. That youthful fruit intensity tastes terrific and gives the wine a lovely punchy delivery. -Monica Larner

The 2024 Etna Rosso a' Rina is vividly fresh, leaping from the glass with a burst of wild strawberry, crushed violet and wet stone. This presents a pretty inner sweetness with juicy acidity to balance. The 2024 finishes quite long. -Eric Guido
