Very cool and still quite closed, this has an intense stony minerality and a pronounced cassis note. Very concentrated and currently quite austere, however, this dry riesling has terrific structure. This really needs a couple of years to open up, but great potential. Best after 2025. - Stuart Pigott

The 2022 Graacher Domprobst Riesling GG opens with a clear, refined and flinty bouquet of well-weathered slate and coolish clay aromas. The fruit is very precise and detailed and perfectly ripe and healthy. Round and lush on the palate, this is a full-bodied, pure, enormously complex, saline and crunchy Domprobst that is utterly slate-driven and seems to come from the Fountain of Youth. Enormously saline, pure and tensioned, it's a fabulous wine. 12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in November 2023. - Stephan Reinhardt

(VN 92-94 points) The 2022 Riesling Graacher Domprobst GG was harvested from one parcel, just below the white vineyard name lettering, partially on own-rooted 70-year-old vines and newer plantings. It was initially planted to single stakes but is now converted to a wire trellis - with the old vines. Today, it is a mix of 50/50 old and newer vines. Fermented and matured in Fuder. The nose still has a touch of reduction. Underneath that is a touch of citrus foliage and a sense of creaminess. The palate is bright and concentrated. A gentle, velvety nature and a note of hazelnut (from a two-year-old Fuder) join the midpalate's freshness, which seems to have a well of coolness and freshness at its core, expressed in coolish lemon brightness.
