From the Sonoma side of the Mayacamas, Patria's 2022 Chardonnay Charlie Smith Vineyard boasts scents of toasted cashews, ripe peaches and crushed pineapple. It's medium- to full-bodied in the mouth, round yet still structured, finishing vibrant, tight and long. From a site in the Moon Mountain AVA, the 2022 Chardonnay Charlie Smith Vineyard comes from old Wente Clone and spent 15 months in 38% new oak. Rocking amounts of honeyed citrus, sappy flower, chalky minerality, and some salty, sea breeze-like nuances all emerge on the nose, and it hits the palate with medium-bodied richness, a vibrant, racy, yet concentrated mouthfeel, and a mineral-drenched finish. It's another beautiful Chardonnay in the vintage.

The 2022 Chardonnay Charlie Smith Vineyard is bright, floral and effusive. There's a bit more aromatic breadth and less phenolic intensity than in some years. Its balance is impeccable.
