So supple, plush yet structured, this finely balanced wine from Marie-Laure Ammons offers amazing, vivid fruit flavors that are seamlessly integrated with fine-grained tannins and lifting acidity. It feels linear and driven, picking up black cherries, sour cherries and floral notes that expand on a full body and linger in the finish. Drinkable now, but should develop more complexity from 2028.

The 2022 Pinot Noir Radian Vineyard is also off-the-hook good and shows the talent of this winemaker with reds as well as whites. Black raspberries, crushed stone, pressed flowers, and some background black tea notes all define the aromatics, and it's medium to full-bodied, has a seamless, elegant mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a great finish. Coming all from the Radian Vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills, all destemmed, and aged 12 months in 18% new oak, it's going to deliver the goods for 7-8 years at a minimum.

Pale to medium ruby-purple in color, it charges out with bold notions of black cherries, mulberries, and black raspberries, followed by hints of cinnamon stick, cracked black pepper, and a waft of underbrush. The medium-bodied palate is plush and juicy, with evocative earthy accents and a savory finish.

This nicely done red is packed with ripe mulberry and boysenberry fruit that's kept honest by threads of racy licorice root, singed savory and black tea. Offers nicely coiled energy on the toasty finish, with a lingering mineral accent providing a counterpoint. Best from 2025 through 2030. - JM
