The 2022 Riesling Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Kabinett (Golden Capsule) opens with a deep, remarkably flinty firestone tone on the dense, complex, slightly reductive nose that is also complex yet still more shy than that of the Wehlen sister Kabinett. On the palate, this is a medium-bodied, dense and rich yet very fine Kabinett with juicy fruit and ripe, well-integrated acidity. The finish is long, saline and still mineral and indicates another long-distance Kabinett. 7.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in August 2024 from AP 33 23. - Stephan Reinhardt
