The 2022 Pinot Noir Estate Cuvée comes from a mix of the three sites, Soberanes, Garys', and Pisoni, and it was brought up in 55% new wood. A rocking little Pinot Noir, it has ample red and black fruits, some spicy, dried flowers, and savory herb nuances, medium body, a soft, lush mouthfeel, and a great finish. It's a great example of the 2022 vintage with its ripe, supple, already delicious style. Drink bottles over the coming 5-7 years or more.

Fresh and buoyant, the 2022 Pinot Noir Estate Cuvée shoots a vibrant array of sweet cherry, black raspberry and clove from the glass. Neatly structured yet enthusiastic, the stem inclusion adds lift and spiciness but doesn’t distract. The 2022 finishes with a linear drive. I admire the concentration of fruit here. Lush aromas of black cherry, root beer and cola show a definite smoky element on the nose of this estate cuvée. The palate is rich with black cherry, black plum, nutmeg and star anise flavors, making for a rich combination that ends on a long vanilla note. — Matt Kettmann

The 2022 Pinot Noir Estate Cuvée combines the Pisoni, Garys' and Sobranes Vineyards. The nose is dominated by aromas of dark fruit compote and toasty, charred notes of new oak. On the palate, it is soft and jammy while remaining medium-bodied and concluding with a staining, intense finish framed with sturdy tannins. This forward, toasty style still surely has its fans, but I find the ripeness and oak go a bit too far to merit a higher score. - Matthew Luczy
