Gorgeous blackcurrant and crushed-stone as well as lead-pencil aromas. It's full-bodied with juicy and round tannins that are well integrated and polished, melting into the palate. Lots going on in the fruity finish. 65% merlot, 26% cabernet sauvignon and 9% cabernet franc. Drinkable but better after 2028.

The 2022 Les Tourelles de Longueville is dark, ample and super-expressive. Intense red fruit, new leather, cedar, licorice, mocha and dried flowers fill out the layers. A wine of resonance and power, Les Tourelles is impressive. The elevated presence of Merlot in this warm microclimate seems to emphasize heavier torrefaction notes that are prevalent here but not found in the other wines in the lineup. Fragranced black berries, chocolate, cream, vanilla, a soft sweetness and such inviting aromas - beautifully aromatic. Smooth, supple, succulent and filling but sharp at the same time, a wonderful juiciness and weight to this. It’s rich, but more from the dark berry flavour than the texture which is more sleek than plush. Licks of wet stone give this enjoyable minerality and this has persistence from start to finish. Well worked, charming and accessible. A nice buy. Ageing 12 months in French oak, 30% new, 70% one wine. (Drink between 2026-2039)

Lots of classic lead pencil, graphite, smoky tobacco, and red and black fruit notes emerge from the 2022 Les Tourelles De Longueville, a charming, elegant, beautifully balanced Pauillac that has ripe tannins, medium to full-bodied richness, and outstanding length. A Merlot-dominated blend of 65% Merlot, 26% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 9% Cabernet Franc, it’s already hard to resist yet should have 15+ years of prime drinking.

Flowers, cigar wrappers, citrus peel, herbs, and blackberries are found in the nose. There is a softness to the tannins and freshness to the fruits on the mid-palate that creates a lot of style, and energy here. 2026-2040.
