The 2022 Riesling Brauneberger Juffer Sonnenuhr Auslese Goldkapsel is made from fruit with 30-40% botrytis-affected grapes. Haag notes that this was exquisitely clean botrytis, and the purity of candied lime and lemon peel on the nose, with aromatic passion fruit trailing overhead, proves it. The palate is viscous, very concentrated, super sweet, yet absolutely countered by acidity. Vivid tropicality on a most delicious knife’s edge.
