The interplay of concentrated exotic fruit aromas (what a wide spectrum of them there are!) and the cool wet stone minerality of this succulent Auslese is a beauty to behold. Stunning vitality at the uplifting finish although the acidity is not high in the Mosel context. This has great potential, but you could certainly drink it right away if you want maximum freshness. The 2022 Riesling Brauneberger Juffer Auslese Goldkapsel was made with about 30-40% botrytis-affected fruit. On the nose, passion fruit and lime frame ripe white peach. The botrytis lends a certain lift and takes us to candied lime and lemon peel. The slightly viscous palate downright sprays with zestiness on a very concentrated, vivid body shimmering with passion fruit tropicality and tartness.
