A slightly more elegant and certainly more floral-suffused nose, especially rose petal, speaks of exuberantly fresh red cherry, currant and soft earth wisps. There is excellent verve to the denser and more powerful medium weight flavors that also exude a subtle minerality on the youthfully austere bitter pit fruit-inflected finale that delivers excellent persistence. This is also quite serious and in need of at least 5 or so years while being fully capable of reward 10 to 12.

(90-92 points) Paler purple, with a lifted raspberry nose. The 2022 Charmots seems to have a much better balanced pH than in some previous warm vintages, and I don’t see anything bacterial here. Some whole bunch has been used and the racking was later. Some sucrosity here, and an engaging finish.
