(95+ points) Jordan has cultivated the cru that makes up the 2022 Forster Jesuitengarten Riesling GG since 1793, so more than 230 years. The vineyard is very complex in its soil structure but rather flat and warm. The nose of the 2022 indicates super ripe, warm and healthy fruit reminiscent of dried seed fruits intermingled with iodine and savory mineral notes, mirroring the complexity of the rather deep but diverse soil that is loamy and marly and characterized by iron-rich sandstone veins. Very elegant and vital on the palate, this full-bodied, rich but racy Riesling keeps it richness and power in balance since the wine is tightly structured by acidity, fine tannins and its mineral complexity. The finish is accordingly tight, fresh and complex and very, very long. However, the wine is far too young to be enjoyed at this early stage. 12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in July 2024. - Stephan Reinhardt
