Tasted alongside the 2021, the 2022 Chardonnay Le Rayon-Vert pours a shade deeper yellow hue and showcases the sunny side of the 2022 vintage, with notes of pineapple, toasted spice, and preserved lemon. Full-bodied and supple, it’s rounded, with a good fresh underpinning to hold it together, and I like the pithy and light chalky texture that frames and accents the wine, lifting it off the palate. These are decadent wines, but they retain a nice level of freshness. Drink 2025-2032.
