The 2021 Riesling Hochheimer Kirchenstück Grosses Gewächs comes from calcareous loess and loam soils from vines planted in 1969. It opens with ripe Mirabelle, peach skin and intense juiciness. The palate tempers this with an edge of lemon zest that packs a lot of textural pithiness. Vivid concentration is bedded on yeasty richness against a salty, textured and pithy backdrop.
