The 2021 Pündericher Marienburg Grosses Gewächs Fahrlay deliciously intertwines smoke with green Seville orange peel on the nose with all its aromatic allure. The palate is incisive, bright and tingles with citrus intensity both in terms of acidity and aroma. Wonderfully lasting, beautifully profound. This seems to reach far further than the palate, filling the entire mind with its beautifully pure citrus aroma. Wow. 6.2g/L of sweetness and 8.3 g/L of acidity. (Dry) --Anne Krebiehl MW

(93-95 points) The 2021 Marienburg GG Fahrlay is enormously pure and flinty on the intense and almost iodine nose that reveals stony and phenolic aromas with mocha notes. Lush and very elegant on the palate, this is a round, intense, textured and balanced Fahrlay with ripe and piquant yet elegant acidity intermingled with young, phenolic grip and mineral tension. With less than seven grams per liter of residual sugar, this is possibly the driest GG of the vintage here. Tasted as a sample at the domaine in July 2022.

Deep and cool nose of crisp pear, bergamot and a touch of floral honey. Bold and firmly structured, this has impressive depth, but needs some time to open up. Plenty of crushed rock minerality at the long, weighty finish. From biodynamically grown grapes with Respekt certification. Drinkable now, but best from 2024.
