(93-95 points) The 2021 Cornas Reynard might be the wine of the vintage when all is said and done. Deep purple-hued, with gorgeous plum and cassis fruits, it hits the palate with medium-bodied richness, a layered, textured, concentrated mouthfeel, beautiful balance, and fine tannins. It's going to shine with 4-5 years of bottle age and, I suspect, have 15-20 years of overall longevity.

Pronounced blood orange, black cherry jam, blackcurrant, dried violet, pencil shaving and cedar notes introduce the 2021 Cornas Reynard. Stemmy funk adds more complexity to the mix. Hitting the full-bodied palate with sweet fruit notes, the 2021 is an utterly refreshing Reynard from Thierry Allemand, unmistakably showcasing its pedigree and class. Bundling remarkable energy on the mid-palate, the 2021 ends with stunning length on the detailed finish. -- Nicolas Greinacher
