Medium golden with a silver tint, the 2021 Chardonnay UV - El Diablo offers lots of layered and classic charm, with wonderful aromas of flint, salted peach, toasted brioche, and lime zest. Medium to full-bodied, with a clean and creamy texture, it has seamless balance in its notes of hazelnut, toasted cedar, and melon. More about its rounded and viscous texture than acidity, it’s long on the palate. It’s going to improve over the next 5-7 years and drink well over the following 10.

The 2021 Senses UV - El Diablo Vineyard Chardonnay slowly unfurls to deliver powerful notes of peach cobbler, preserved mandarin peel, and lime cordial, giving way to underlying suggestions of honeycomb, praline, and sea spray. The medium to full-bodied palate has a decadent oiliness to the texture, juxtaposed by a lively backbone and layers of bright stone fruit and citrus flavors, finishing on a lingering ginger ale note.

The 2021 Chardonnay El Diablo Vineyard was barrel fermented and matured for 14 months in about one-third new French oak. It's youthfully coiled on the nose at this stage, offering flinty tones, petrichor and quince fruit. The light-bodied palate features focused, laser-like acidity, a gentle touch of texture and a latent finish with lingering honey-nut tones. Give it 2-3+ years in bottle to unwind. 300 cases were made.

The 2021 Chardonnay El Diablo Vineyard is a deep, tightly wound wine. Lemon confit, jasmine, graphite, dried flowers and chamomile all open in the glass. This deceptively mid-weight, translucent Chardonnay offers a good bit of complexity and detail.
