Always a vibrant, impeccably made white, the 2021 Furmint comes from vines right beside the winery and has a bright, racy style as well as crisp aromatics of tart grapefruit, lime, and a kiss of salty minerality. It finishes clean and dry and is a terrific white to enjoy with food over the coming couple of years.

The 2021 Furmint opens with delicate scents of fresh pears, lemon grass, and lime leaves followed by hints of white pepper and chalk dust. The medium to full-bodied palate has a satiny texture and racy backbone defining the spicy pear and apple-inspired flavors, finishing long and chalky. The Furmint is usually picked in the first week of September, and this year it came in before the heat event. - Lisa Perrotti-Brown

The only white wine produced—planted in 2006 as an homage to the family's Hungarian ancestry—the 2021 Furmint features subtle melon and lime shadings and a hint of white pepper. In the mouth, it's plump and creamy textured, medium to full-bodied, finishing fully dry, long and refreshing. The 2022 was bottled just 10 days prior to my visit and wasn't yet available for tasting. - Joe Czerwinski
