The Il Marroneto 2021 Rosso di Montalcino Iacopo is packed tight with primary fruit, bright cherry and all kinds of berries, raspberries and currants. There is Christmas spice, clove, cinnamon and dried orange peel. The mouthfeel is very lively with beautiful dusty tannins and approachable freshness. This is a terrific Rosso that brings you to the lighter and fresher side of Montalcino. Of the two Rossos, Iacopo and Ignaccio, I found this bottle to be brighter. - Monica Larner

The 2021 Rosso Di Montalcino Jacopo takes a darker tone of the two and opens to aromas of raspberry liqueur, wild sage, lavender, and cherry candies. It has fantastic vibrancy on the palate, with fine tannins and a wonderful lift, and it fills the senses with all its personality and purity. Another exceptional wine, this one may be the most open to drinking early, although again, it will have some longevity over the next 8-10 years. - Audrey Frick

The 2021 Rosso di Montalcino Selezione Iacopo emerges from the glass with a gorgeous, dusty bouquet of sweet rose and confectionary spice, complementing dried strawberries. It splashes across the palate with seamlessly silky textures and admirable depth, blending ripe red fruits with blood orange and clove, all guided by juicy acidity. This finishes dramatically long and potent, with a staining of raspberry preserves and tactile mineral tones, all energized by a twang of candied oranges. This seductive rendition of Selezione Iacopo is already giving in so many ways yet has the balance to evolve beautifully over time. -- Eric Guido
