This has a beautiful nose of blood oranges and wild berries with a saline note. The palate is medium- to full-bodied, precise and linear, with red fruit lifted by vibrant acidity and chalky tannins that bring harmony. Very chiseled and focused. This comes from two parcels planted between 1937 and 1942, on a hillside composed of clay, marls and chalk. 100% garnacha with 20% whole bunch. Drink now or hold. - Jacobo García Andrade

(95+ points) Most 2021s showed really well, with a combination of ripe fruit that developed plenty of aromas and flavors coupled with an extra degree of freshness, often citrus, reminiscent of blood orange peel, and the superb 2021 El Cismático is no exception. The change in the vineyards, now both on white limestone-rich soils, delivered a paler and more aromatic wine. This is more exotic and ethereal, with a tad more complexity and layers than the 2020 I tasted next to it. This has superb balance and seems to have all the ingredients and inner energy to develop nicely in bottle. 3,333 bottles produced. It was bottled in April 2023.- LG
