An ultra-pure and fresh nose of green apple, spiced pear compote and citrus blossom is also trimmed in just enough wood to merit mentioning. As one would expect from a classic Chevalier, there is an overt stoniness to the powerful broad-shouldered flavors that terminate in a superbly long and well-balanced finale. This very classy effort also needs to develop better depth but with a potential aging curve of between 12 to 15 years, that should reasonably occur.
