(90-93 points) Classic Chablis aromas of iodine, mineral reduction and oyster shell add breadth to the notes of green apple and citrus rind. There is first-rate intensity to the detailed and stony medium-bodied flavors that display excellent persistence on the youthfully austere and very dry finale. This is certainly tightly wound today but I suspect that it will be approachable on the younger side as Vaudevey typically is.

The 2021 Chablis Vau de Vey 1er Cru, which spent nine months on the lees, has a nicely proportioned bouquet of apple blossom, wet stone and light Anjou pear scents. The palate is taut and fresh with a lovely spine of acidity, focused with ample weight towards the bright finish. A lovely Vau de Vey. -- Neal Martin
