Isabelle Raveneau noted that the family is very lucky to have forty percent of their vineyard holdings in the Montée de Tonnerre, and she reflected that it is one of the nicest vineyards to work in during the summer, as there is actually a lovely view from their parcels here. The 2021Montée de Tonnerre from the Raveneau family is going to be a brilliant wine. It offers up a fine nose of pear, tangerine, beeswax, a complex base of chalky minerality, lemon zest, white lilies and just a hint of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full and properly reserved out of the blocks, with a great core, fine mineral drive and cut, zesty acids and lovely balance on the long, complex and focused finish. First class juice.
