(96-98 points) The 2021 Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru has what is often termed "transparency" on the entrancing nose, airy yet vigorous with lifted red berry fruit, petrichor and light citrus aromas. There's just a hint of reduction but minor. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannins, quite deep and intense, elegant and lightly spiced towards the persistent finish that lingers in the mouth. (94-97 points) A bright, even, ruby purple colour. More weight than the Echezeaux, possibly less refinement than Clos de la Roche. So harmonious! A glorious succulent whole with very good acidity to help retain the optimum freshness. This is enormously appealing with a sense of latent majesty. Despite the opulence it remains light on its feet and exceptionally persistent! Immaculate texture. Drink from 2028-2036.

(92-94 points) A wonderfully expressive, high-toned and ultra-pure nose freely reflects its array of black cherry, anise, exotic tea and a plentitude of floral wisps. The refined and equally pure middleweight flavors actually possess a bit more mid-palate density yet even so, not the same power of the Clos de la Roche on the harmonious, focused and seriously persistent finale. Excellent and ageworthy.

(92-94 points) The 2021 Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru is beautiful, bursting with aromas of red berries, orange zest, rose petals and smoke. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and seamless, it's vibrant, fleshy and perfumed, concluding with a saline finish.- WK
