The first vintage of Chardonnay Sigrid was produced in 2006, before people really believed in Willamette Valley Chardonnay. Always coming from the oldest vines, the 2021 Chardonnay Sigrid marries the three appellations that they work with in the Chehalem Mountains, Dundee Hills, and Ribbon Ridge. It pours a bright yellow hue with a youthful tinge of green and is more complete on the nose, with layered notes of lemon curd, poached pear, jasmine, and salty earth. It’s medium to full-bodied, with upfront salinity, but has a weightless feel, a clean, decadent texture, and a long finish. It’s going to drink fantastically over the next 10 or more years.
