94+ Katarina Prüm’s 2020 Badstube Spätlese is simply stunning and one of the best wines I have ever tasted from this vineyard. The bouquet is electric, jumping from the glass in a mix of apple, fresh lime, lilacs, bee pollen, a touch of wild yeasts, apple blossoms and a gorgeously complex base of slate. On the palate the wine is vibrant, medium-full and zesty, with beautiful structural tension, great mineral drive and grip, gorgeous fruit tones and a very long, perfectly balanced and complex finish. Simply beautiful Spätlese!

The 2020 Bernkasteler Badstube Spätlese opens with a concentrated, finely flinty/mineral bouquet of fully ripe and slightly stewed stone fruits intermingled with iodine nuances. Dense and lush on the palate and provided with ripe, crystalline and imbedded salinity, this is a mouth-filling and quite intense Spätlese that is already accessible. 7.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine from AP 13 21 in July 2022. - SR
