Seaspray and brine lend savoury nuances to penetrating flavours of sun-drenched white peach and honeydew. Augmented with small proportions of botrytised grapes, it's a steely, breathtakingly elegant wine marked with spice and whispers of tea tannins on the finish. Light as a feather yet powerful and pure, it's just starting to shine and will reward cellaring for decades.

The 2020 Graacher Himmelreich Auslese (Gold Capsule) is finely concentrated and deep on the clear and crisp, even refreshing and discreetly phenolic nose that adds a spicy and coolish, even slightly greenish nuance. Lush and round on the palate and running down the throat immediately, this is a savory, dense and very elegant Auslese, with a salty, grippy and salivating, long, concentrated and irresistible finish. 7% stated alcohol. Here’s a great Mosel classic that’s just beginning a life that will stretch decades into the future. So much jasmine and honeysuckle that it’s hard to believe this is a rich wine with plenty of natural grape sweetness. Wonderfully delicate floral-honey flavors on the silky and filigree palate that has expertly underplayed power. Super-long finish with tantalizing succulence. Drinkable now, but best from 2023.

This is enticing and unctuous, with an elegant frame, but boasts notes of vanilla custard, apricot, honey and candied lemon. It sings with purity and precision, despite its rich palate and youthful, firm acidity. Minerality flows under the service and will be coming out more in a decade or so.
