The 2020 en Jouise bottling chez Harmand is a bit riper in personality than the straight Gevrey AC, and not quite as elegant as a result. The black fruity and sappy nose jumps from the glass in a mix of black cherries, dark berries, hung game, chocolate, bonfire, dark soil tones and cedary oak. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, sappy and shows copious quantity of fruit at the core, with seamless tannins, tangy acids and a long, ripe and buxom finish. This flirts with sur maturité just a bit, like a 1990 red Burgundy might have back in the day, and is not quite as refined in personality this year as the regular AC bottling. But, it does have depth and stuffing to burn.
