91+ The 2020 Clos Prieur from the Harmands is outstanding in this vintage, with none of the ripeness issues that define the en Jouise at the present time. The very precise and beautifully measured nose delivers a beautiful constellation of cassis, sweet dark berries, woodsmoke, a touch of licorice, dark soil tones, grilled meats and a touch of spicy oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, tangy and impeccably balanced, with a fine core, lovely mineral drive and grip, ripe, buried tannins and a long, focused and complex finish. This is excellent and one of the steals of the vintage!
