The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin “la Bossière” from Domaine Harmand-Geoffroy is very, very fine this year. The elegant young nose wafts from the glass in a blend of black cherries, sweet dark berries, bitter chocolate, gamebird, dark soil tones, a nice touch of cedar and a smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and quite powerfully styled for the la Bossière vineyard this year, with a rock solid core of fruit, fine soil undertow, ripe, fine-grained tannins and a long, young and tangy finish. This is excellent.
