(90-92 points) Here too there is a whiff of menthol to the ripe though slightly fresher aromas of red and dark currant, earth and forest floor. The menthol character extends to the palate as well of the slightly bigger and more powerful flavors that culminate in a markedly firm, serious and austere finale that is somewhat attenuated. This is a bit disjointed today but my projected range offers the benefit of the doubt that it will better harmonize with age.

The 2020 Corton Grand Cru has a splendid nose with brambly red fruit, briar, light earthy notes and good vigor. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy red fruit, sour cherry and orange rind. Quite zesty and joyful, there's plenty of brightness towards the chalky finish. This is a Corton to enjoy over the next 20 years. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting. -- Neal Martin
