(94-96 points) The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes 1er Cru has one of the most opulent aromatics from the Domaine with vivacious dark cherries, cassis and pressed violet scents that gain momentum with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with silky tannins, very harmonious, superb mineralité. (93-95 points) Glowing imperial purple, a touch more ethereal, could almost imagine there was some whole bunches here. Medium bodied within the context of the vintage, but properly noble Chambolle with a seamless lingering aftertaste.

(93-95 points) There are four barrels of the brilliant 2020 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes, a striking wine that mingles aromas of raspberries and red cherries with hints of rose petal, peony and exotic spices in an inviting bouquet. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and concentrated, with lively acids and a long, mineral finish, this is very promising.- WK

(91-94 points) Here the floral nuances of violet and rose petal are more prominent on the aromas of red and dark cherry and soft wood wisps. There is once again both fine underlying tension and delineation to the strikingly textured middle weight flavors that also culminate in a racy, youthfully austere and more persistent finish. Lovely stuff.

Compellingly lovely, jumping from the glass with very forward red fruit and floral notes up front. As the wine opens up it is lighter, with a silky, delicate texture and an aromatic, ethereal bouquet that resonates finesse. Charles van Canneyt at Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat farms barely 20 acres of Chambolle premier cru Charmes, separated from Amoureuses by Les Haut Doix. He makes the wine sensitively, without overdoing whole-cluster inclusion, extraction or new oak.
