(91-93 points) Rich fresh ripe purple. Grown on white soil, so was picked early, but as it happens the Perrières underwent a late malolactic and has not yet been sulphured. One third whole bunch, from the very old vines. Definitely a peppery note which is actually welcome given the opulence of the fruit. 13%. Definite structure at the back but better integrated. I really like the perfume that stays behind in the glass.

(91-93 points) The 2020 Beaune Les Perrières 1er Cru is matured with one-third whole cluster and went through a late malolactic. The whole cluster is quite expressive here, peppery and quite vibrant, a light marine influence coming through. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannins, very well balanced, fine backbone with a lightly spiced finish. This has real character and terroir expression.

(90-92 points) An overtly floral and spice-suffused nose is a bit more deeply pitched with mostly notes of poached plum and black cherry liqueur. There is better vibrancy to the precise and attractively textured medium-bodied flavors that display fine length on the dusty, even chalky, and youthfully austere finish that is notably firmer. Fine quality here.
